Festivals in Houston this March
1. Strawberry Festival at Froberg’s Farm
Located in the Houston-adjacent area of Alvin, Froberg’s Farm is a local institution known of its vibrant fall festival, December Christmas trees, and come spring, annual Strawberry Festival.
Running throughout the month of March, the farm allows for visitors to enjoy the fruits of their labor with its popular strawberry-picking attraction. While the festival runs throughout March, strawberry-picking will be available into late May.

2. Buffalo Bayou Partnership Regatta
Witness hundreds of canoes, kayaks, and other aquatic vessels take to Houston’s waterways for the 53rd Annual Buffalo Bayou Partnership Regatta Saturday, March 22.
Registration is open until 15 minutes before the race – starting at 9 am – for participants. For those on dry land, spectactors can line up along the bayou from 7700 San Felipe St. to 1019 Commerce St. at Allen’s Landing where an award ceremony will be held post race.

3. Tomball German Heritage Festival
Hoist your steins this March for the return of the wunderbar Tomball German Heritage Festival. Taking place in Old Town Tomball, the free and all-ages event features a carnival of German cuisine, cultural music and performances, contests, antiques, with over 150 vendors.

4. Bayou City Art Festival Downtown
Celebrate Houston’s incredible local artists this spring at the Bayou City Art Festival Downtown. Benefitting six local non-profits, the festival will turn the Sam Houston Park into an outdoor art gallery will all sort of pieces ranging from paintings to jewelry, cultures, prints, and more.
Furthermore, the Bayou City Art Festival Downtown will feature a food truck park, a Chef’s Culinary Arts Stage, beverage stations, wine and beer garden. Tickets are available for $20, or $30 for weekend passes – both adults.

5. Montgomery County Fair & Rodeo
Rodeo season in Houston isn’t over, folks. Still feeling like you could house a couple more funnel cakes over a couple country concerts and barrel races? Check out the Montgomery County Fair & Rodeo, set to feature live concerts, animal races, exhibitions, contests, auctions, and more!

6. The Riot Comedy Festival at Rudyard’s
Back for its third year, The Riot Comedy Festival is poised once again to take over the Waugh block in Montrose with over 50 comedians across 30 shows, four stages, and four days worth of comedy as well an all-you-can-eat BBQ cook-off. Featured headliners include Sam Tallent, Chris Redd, and Chad & JT.

7. Houston Art Car Parade

Cruising back into town this April is the city’s fast and curious Houston Art Car Parade and Ball. Slated for April 10 – 13, the parade will showcase all the weird and wonderful motor vehicles in Downtown, Houston. The event will also feature the annual Art Car Ball, known as the wildest annual Houston party.

8. 3rd Annual Galveston Steampunk Festival
Travel back in time at the Galveston Steampunk Festival this April. Taking place at Moody Gardens, the all-ages festival will feature a wide range of entertainment, vendors, music, and all sorts of cooky but cool costumes. Featured events include tea pot racing, steamboat tour experience, and parasol dueling.

9. FoodieLand Festival
The California-famous, open-air food festival returns to Houston this April with over 250 food vendors. Taking its inspiration from night markets in Asia, the festival features a vibrant array of diverse Asian cuisines as well as everything from burgers to churros and any other food you can think of.
Carnival games, live music, and plenty of boozy beverages will also be available. Tickets sell for around $7.

10. H-Town Blues Festival
The 17th Annual H-Town Blues Festival will once again fill Bayou City with the soulful rhythms of the blues. Taking place at NRG Arena, the headliners of the festival include King George, Tucka, Pokey Bear, West Love, J-Wonn, and TK Soul.

11. Bunnies on the Bayou Music Festival
One of the annual highlights of Houston Pride celebrations, Bunnies on the Bayou is a colorful party complete with dancing, drinks, live DJs, and more at the Wortham Center.

41. Wade through a Lush Lavender Farm
Located on 290, about 45 minutes or so outside of Houston in route to Austin is Chappell Hill in Washington County. The area is knitted with a framework of scenic roads and beset with spring wildflowers in key sightseeing spots in Independence Trail, the Antique Rose Emporium, and Chappell Hill Lavender Farm. The farm expect to see lavender blooms mid/late April.
