Being slightly better putters than actual golfers, we couldn’t be more delighted with all the fantastic mini-golf courses in Houston. From Tiger Woods’ expansive mini-golf facility, rooftop, and beer garden in Katy, to Topgolf’s Puttshack at The Shops at Houston Center, and the tipsy tees of The Puttery in Sawyer Yards – there’s plenty of places in Houston to work on your short game.
This past April, a new mini-golf facility has rolled into town. Holey Moley Mini-Golf Club has opened a multi-sensory facility in River Oaks with 27 thematic holes across three courses, two private karaoke rooms, as well as a full restaurant and bar.
Holey Moley is a concept from the Australian-based company, Funlab. The company specializes in competitive socializing experiences ranging from bowling alleys to arcades. It has over 20 locations across Australia, as well as two in the United States one in Denver and a recently-opened location in Austin.
Their ’80s/’90s-themed mini-golf course in Houston creates a nostalgic experience with 27 thematic holes including Smells Like Tee Spirit, Fore Letter Word, Mazed and Confused, Par for the Corpse, and Birdie Hunter. The venue will also have a nod to Houston, with an astronaut-themed hole complete with murals by Texas graffiti artist Goodluck Buddha.
“We are beyond excited to bring the Holey Moley experience to Houston,” said Global CEO Michael Schreiber in a press release.
“We call ourselves Motherfunners. We live to show you a good time, and can’t wait to introduce our unique brand of fun to the vibrant community of Houston. Get ready to putt, sip, and savor your way through an unforgettable adventure!”
Holey Moley features numerous private event spaces including two karaoke rooms.
Furthermore, the venue includes a full Americana-inspired kitchen with a Texas flair as well as a 104-seat bar, named The Caddyshack, where visitors can enjoy playful cocktails.
Holey Moley is now open in River Oaks in mid April. The company is now taking reservations parties and events of varying sizes.
