Get your sparkles ready, Houston, the Fourth of July is almost here! In addition to the epic Independence Day bashes happening around the city – not excluding the massive Freedom Over Texas festival in Downtown, Houston– Tomball is gearing to shut down a highway for its annual Fourth of July celebration.
In celebration of our country’s 250th birthday, Tomball is going big for its annual July 4th Celebration & Street Fest. On Saturday, July 4, the town will shut down Business Highway 249 north of FM 2920 to clear the way for live music, local vendors, food trucks, and more.
Special events planned for the July 4th Celebration include a screening of the Nicholas Cage epic, National Treasure at 6:30 pm. At 7 pm, the festival will host a special ceremony for Armed Forces with a medley tribute and sing-along.
Willow Creek Junction will crank out the tunes at 7:30 pm, followed by ‘one of the biggest fireworks shows in Houston‘ around 9:15 pm.
Throughout the festival, visitors can enjoy a wide array of local vendors, food trucks, as well as a designated kids’ zone.
For those coming from Houston, parking will be available in virtually any parking lot in Tomball’s “Four Corners” area — including Target, Lowe’s, Kroger, Kohl’s, Academy, or H-E-B. For handicap vehicles, there is ample parking available behind the stage at the north end of Business 249.
The event allows coolers, though no outside alcohol or glass containers are permitted.
The Tomball July 4th Celebration & Street Fest takes place from 6 pm – 9 pm on July 4 at Business Highway 249 just north of FM 2920. The celebration is completely free to attend, though visitors are encouraged to bring cash for food and beverages.
Visitors are also encouraged to stay updated with official city channels pending inclement weather.
