From the minds behind The Kirby Group comes Verde Garden, a lush Tex-Mex restaurant and garden. Presently in their soft opening phase, on May the 4th, the group will be hosting their grand opening of the Tex-Mex garden in Houston at 1101 LaRue in the former Grappino di Nino location.
The Kirby Group is the team behind some of the hottest hangouts in Houston; such projects include the recently opened Bayou Heights Biergarten, Pitch 25, Holman Draft Hall, Worcester’s Annex, and Wooster’s Garden. This May, the hospitality group is opening its latest concept, Verde Garden in the new Harlow District.
“Come experience the Margarita-Fueled, Tex-Mex, Verde Garden. We’re pouring 12 specialty frozen margaritas, made-to-order— as well as 20 house cocktails, 60 classic cocktail crafted from a selection of more than 250 agave and Mexican spirits as well as bourbon, rum, scotch, gin, vodka, and more,” the group wrote in an Instagram post.
Verde Garden’s culinary menu was curated by Teddy Lopez, formerly of Killen’s STQ, and features appetizer staples, ceviche, and entrees that include a variety of enchilada options, tortas, as well as vegetarian dishes.
“Our food menu includes Tex-Mex favorites like tacos, enchiladas, torta sandwiches, queso, and ceviche.”
The doors of Verde Garden are now open to the public, however on May 4th, the restaurant will host its grand opening fiesta which is set to feature “mariachis and margaritas”. Verde Garden is open from 11 am – midnight Sunday through Thursday and from 11 am – 2 am Fridays and Saturdays.
“We are excited to open the first concept in the new Harlow District. We know Houstonians love Tex-Mex and beer gardens so we wanted to open a new concept with that in mind, Verde Garden is a great space to come enjoy made-to-order fresh or frozen margaritas while enjoying a meal or shareables,” said Kirby Group cofounder, Andy Aweida,
