A new watering hole has opened in The Heights. Bayou Heights Bier Garten is officially open in Houston with four buildings, a courtyard, beer, wine, and plenty more to come.
From The Kirby Group of Holman Draft Hall, Heights Bier Garten, and Wooster’s Garden, comes Bayou Heights Bier Garten, an expansive new indoor-outdoor beer garden on Washington Ave.
Open from 8 am to 2 am daily, Bayou Heights Bier Garten takes its inspiration from fellow Kirby Group concept, Heights Bier Garten on North Shepherd. Key features include a 36-foot-long bar, floor-to-ceiling windows, and lounge seating. The patio and courtyard is equipped with plenty of seating, including swings and fire places.
As for its libations, it features 74 different craft beers, 16 types of wine available by tap or by bottle. Furthermore, the bar features a robust cocktail program. Curated by General Manager, Dave Minda, and Beverage Director, Joel Ramirez, the bar serves 28 different cocktails divvied up in seven different categories such as “Tropical & Tiki”, “Spirit Forward”, and “Fruity & Sweet”.
Bayou Heights also features a cozy cafe which serves an assortment of house made pastries. Otherwise, the beer garden offers a barbecue-inspired menu curated by one chef Teddy Lopez, formerly of Killen’s. Here, visitors can enjoy options ranging from smoked pulled pork sandwiches, smoked chicken wings, beef brisket, pork ribs, and assortment of sausages.
As for sides, the beer garden offers pretzels made in house, German potato salad, queso mac and cheese, crispy Brussels sprouts, and more available as sides.
On Saturday and Sunday, from 11 am to 3 pm, Bayou Heights Bier Garten serves brunch, items including options such as the croque ma’am and brisket egg muffin sandwich.
The beer garden is now open at 3905 Washington Ave.
