The Kentucky Derby is around the corner. If you can’t afford a ticket, you can still get in on the fun with fine wines, big hats, and more at the Derby-Style Wine Fest at Brenner’s on the Bayou.
Brenner’s on the Bayou is a rustic yet elegant bar and restaurant that offers one of the most unique views of the Bayou City. Overlooking a pristinely landscaped garden as well as lush natural greenery along the bayou, Brenner’s provides an idyllic atmosphere in which to enjoy fine dining at its best.
On May 6, the picturesque culinary destination is hosting their Derby-Style Wine Fest from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm. Here, visitors will be able to taste from over award-winning 40 wines from 12 elite wineries:

Furthermore, the event will feature light bites from seven Houston restaurants including Brenner’s on the Bayou, Grotto Downtown, McCormick & Schmick’s, Cadillac Bar, Willie G’s, and Babin’s, as well as a dessert station from Chef Eunice Grassa.
In true derby fashion, the event will also feature a Derby Hat Contest with available first, second, and third prizes. Live music and performances will also take place at the wine fest. The festival events will of course all lead to the Kentucky Derby race, which takes place at 6 pm on Saturday, May 6.
The wine festival is 21-and-up. Tickets to the wine festival are priced at $150 per person. A VIP experience is also available, with tickets priced at $250. VIP tickets includes access to the VIP White House that overlooks Brenner’s on the Bayou as well as access to exclusive Silver Oak Cellars and Jordan Vineyard and Winery wines.
