This fall, Houstonians will have a new nightclub in which to dance the night away. Located in the space formerly occupied by Paradise Palace, Mala Vida Paradise promises to be a new Latin music oasis dripping with neon lights, dancy DJ sets, and vibes.
Gabriela’s Group is an Austin-based, Latin-owned restaurant management group responsible for some of Austin’s hottest locals. If you aren’t familiar with them now, you will be soon. The team behind Revival Cafe, Taquero Mucho, and Mala Vida in Austin, will soon open a number of sister concepts in Houston including their eponymous Gabriela’s opening later this year in Midtown, beginning with the opening of Mala Vida nightclub in Downtown this weekend.
Mala Vida opens this Thursday, October 5. The fluorescent, multi-level nightclub will spotlight talented Latin musicians in the surrounding Houston community, featuring a rotating list of reggaeton, perreo, corridos, cumbia, and hip-hop DJs. In addition to providing a dance haven for club-goers, Mala Vida will also feature premium bottle service and private VIP table reservations for guests 21 and over.
“It might have taken us a minute to open our doors in Houston, but we are finally here and I couldn’t be more excited. I can already tell by the local community’s positive support that expanding to Htown was the perfect next step for our family-owned business,” said co-owner and creative director Gabriela Bucio in a press release. “We are very grateful for this new opportunity and look forward to serving Houstonians for years to come.”
Mala Vida opens at Downtown Houston at 1201 Street Emanuel, Suite #110 on October 5 from 9 pm to 2 am.
