Transport yourself to the streets of Havana at the new Buena Vista Cuban Cafe opening in Houston this weekend. Here, you’ll be able to enjoy authentic Cuban cuisine combined with top-notch cocktails, cigar-rolling, and live music.
Buena Vista is the first concept of more to come by Cuban husband-and-wife couple, Roberto and Esther Diaz. In order to realize their vision of bringing a taste of Cuba to Texas, the couple enlisted a talented array of experienced chefs.
Food-wise, the menu features an assortment of starters, salads, sandwiches, ceviches, entrees, sides, and desserts. The restaurant’s starters are easily shareable with fried classics like mariquitas, empanadas, tostones rellenos, as well as a Cuban Board piled with all the above plus Yuca fries and a side of garlic mojo and cilantro alioli.
Featured dishes include Cuban classics like the Afro-Cuban Pork, Ropa Vieja, Grilled Octopus, Paella de Mariscos, and Ceviche Mixto.
From behind the bar, Buena Vista serves an assortment of cocktails including their special BVTini.
Currently in its soft opening phase, Buena Vista is hosting a spectacular grand opening this Saturday, September 30, amid Hispanic Heritage Month. The event will feature all the Cuban flair you could hope for, including live music, dance performances, and rich, savory cuisine – all encased in a lively and vibrant ambiance.
Buena Vista is located at 4601 Washington Ave. The Cuban cafe is open from noon to 10 pm Monday through Friday and from 11 am to 10 pm on Saturdays and Sundays.
