Gabriela’s Group, an Austin-based, Latin-owned restaurant management group responsible for some of Austin’s hottest eateries including Taquero Mucho, Mala Vida, and Revival Cafe, are opening their eponymous Gabriela’s restaurant here in Houston with birria tacos and Mexican dessert-inspired libations .
“HOUSTON‼️ Estamos listos para tirar la H con ustedes,” wrote part-owner Gabriela Bucio, in an Instagram post. “Our team cannot wait to expand to Houston this spring. Growing up my family and I have created many warm memories of this city while we visited as children. Since day one of opening Gabriela’s Downtown, Houston has showed us so much love!”
Gabriela’s presently has two locations in Austin, one Downtown and one in South Austin. Renowned for its traditional Mexican and Tex-Mex dishes, the restaurant specializes in michelads, choriqueso, birria, and vibrant drinks. In addition to their delectables eats and drinks, the restaurants are also known for their vibrant Latin-inspired decor, often with mural art and vibrant furniture, as well as occasional live music performances, and spacious patio.
“I chose Houston because you guys share the same love for music, corriditos, food and culture much as we do and can’t wait to bring you all our events combined with our popular micheladas, tacos, y mas!”
While an official opening date hasn’t been announced, the restaurant did say that it’s going to do so this season.
“I don’t feel like I’m coming to a new city since I have been partying with you all, going to your music shows, eating all the food, and vibing to your music my whole life. You guys are already family to me.”
