‘Tis the season for winter wonderlands. From a full-scale Christmas Village, to a magical outdoor ice rink in Downtown, Houston, to the largest Christmas park in the world: Houston has it all. Among our favorite returning experiences this year, is Texas Winter Lights at Marriott Marquis Houston.
Donning a Western theme this season, the event allows visitors to say “howdy” to the holidays with an illuminated lazy river, private igloos, and Texas-sized cheer.
Texas Winter Lights takes place at Altitude Rooftop at Marriott Marquis Houston from November 17 – December 31. While it’s not TWL’s first rodeo – it kinda is. This year, the event will kick up the Southern hospitality with a special Western theme. As such, the event will saddle up with cowboy hats, country tunes – both live and on stereo – and western bites.
As part of its Western-themed menu, TWL will also seasonal favorites alongside brisket sandwiches, loaded Totchos, and Duck Banh Mi at its on-site High Dive eatery. Specialty cocktails and local seasonal beers are also available.
The Houston holiday experience will feature fun for the whole family. In addition to its glowing lazy river, TWL will feature VR sleigh rides with Santa, as well as curling, light-up checkers, as well as plenty of Yuletide photo-ops.
Throughout the season, TWL will feature a vibrant line-up of concerts at its rooftop. Live country bands, dueling pianos, and line dancing are all on the docket as its its incredibly popular Concerts Under the Stars series, featuring the likes of Sinatra, ABBA, and other stellar tributes.
For an extra special experience, TWL also features on-site igloos and cabins available for rent. Seating groups between 4 and 10 guests, parties can enjoy a cozy rooftop retreat with food towers, bottle service, and an atmosphere of sparkling lights.
Texas Winter Lights in Houston takes place at Marriott Marquis Houston at 1777 Walker St. between November 17 and December 31. Tickets to the event are now available starting at $24.47. Igloo and cabin rentals start at $169.75.
