Created in 2020 by the Savannah Bananas, Banana Ball is a fast-paced, comedic take on baseball similar to the Harlem Globetrotters. Dubbed the “greatest show in sports,” it has skyrocketed in popularity thanks to viral TikTok success and now features regularly sold-out stadium tours.
In 2025, the league announced an expansion: adding the Texas Tailgaters to their roster. This past summer, the team made their Houston debut at Daikin Park.

When do the Texas Tailgaters play next in Houston?
The Texas Tailgaters will be making their return to the Houston area this August. On Friday, August 28 and Saturday, August 29, 2026, the Texas Tailgaters will take on the Savannah Party Animals at Constellation Field in Sugar Land. Both games begin at 7 pm.
Tickets to the Texas Tailgaters’ games in Sugar Land are still on sale as of this article; however, they will cost you a pretty penny. With limited options available, tickets start at $519.
About the Texas Tailgaters
Joining the Savannah Bananas, Party Animals, Firefighters, and Visitors, the Texas Tailgaters are the fifth team to enter the Banana Ball league. As the first semi-regional franchise not based in Savannah, they don’t have a specific home city or stadium, but will play the majority of their matchups across Texas.

What is Banana Ball?
Banana Ball is an accelerated, comedic version of baseball designed for maximum entertainment. The game features unique rules like a two-hour time limit, no walks, no bunting, and fan-caught foul balls counting as outs. Matches are also filled with theatrical antics, including choreographed dances, trick plays, and players on stilts.
