Solarium, a project from Rex Hospitality and The Kirby Group, is poised to take over the space formerly occupied by Holman Draft Hall in Midtown with a 9,000-square-foot sports lounge, restaurant, and patio bar.

Solarium is a sports-inspired, 9,000-square-foot entertainment complex comprised of an indoor/outdoor bar area and lounge, pro shop, and The Courts pickleball and padel courts.

Imbued “with country club refinement and racquet club bravado”, Solarium brings a level of luxury to the game. In addition to the venue’s main building, visitors can host VIP parties, events and enjoy food and beverage service inside the five private, glass-fronted bays housed inside repurposed shipping containers surrounding The Courts.

Prices at The Courts at Solarium vary daily, ranging from $10 – $30. Padel courts prices range from $20 – $40.
What is on the Solarium menu?
Solarium offers an innovative approach to clubhouse fare. The venue offers an all-day menu as well as weekend brunch. Featured options include truffle grilled cheese, bang bang shrimp, po’boys, and buffalo wings. Its brunch menu features the likes of shrimp and grits, Belgian waffles, and shakshuka.
As for its beverage menu, Solarium offers a curated cocktail list with classics including daiquiris, margaritas, and old fashioneds, signatures such as the pandan-based citrus vodka and cherry aperitivo, and frozens, in addition to beer, wine, and N/A options.

When does Solarium open in Houston?
Solarium opens May 1, 2025, exactly a year after it opened its first MAVEN brick-and-mortar inside the Thompson Hotel. The Courts at Solarium are open daily beginning at 9 am. The venue’s hours are 11 am to 10 pm Monday through Thursday, from 10 am to 11 pm Friday and Saturday, and from 10 am to 8 pm on Sunday.
