Houston’s culinary scene is on the rise. Within the past few months alone, the city has seen the opening of a dream team smokehouse, a steakhouse speakeasy, and a breathtaking glass treehouse restaurant on the bayou, among others. This isn’t to mention Top Chef’s new season showcasing the city’s culinary talent nationwide. This season, the culinary scene is reaching new heights with UWA’s Chef’s Tasting.
UWA is now accepting reservations for its high-end, top-class, multi-course tasting. In Drewery Place, 27 stories into the sky, UWA pop-up occurs once a month. Under the leadership of Director Chef, Mike Lim, the team is comprised of 5 chefs – all of which contribute to the tasting’s 11 – 13 courses.
Its multicultural menu rotates monthly, with past tastings drawing inspiration from New American Cuisine, paired with each course is a selection of craft cocktails, sake, and wine.
As stated, the tasting will take place in the pristine atmosphere of the Drewery Place Sky Lounge. Here, staff will lead patrons through the intimate bar, allowing guests to look upon 360-degree panoramic views of the city:
“Upon arrival, you will be greeted by a warm smile and enjoy an introductory walk-through of the atmosphere, as you are gazing around the venue you will hear a soft touch of classical music and finish with a view of Houston downtown on the balcony,” said Michael Ly, Operations Manager at UWA.
The tasting experience is RSVP only, and is for two hours. While events vary, its upcoming event in April is priced at $208 per person covering food, tax, and gratuity – beverages purchased separately. Reservations must be paid for in advance. Each tasting is limited to 40 patrons. The next tasting is scheduled for April 11, with another following in May. To make a reservation, interested attendants can message UWA directly through its Instagram page or call 832-303-1640.
