Flora, a concept from the same minds behind Coppa Osteria and Gratify Houston, has opened with a breathtaking dining experience.
The Big Vibe Group has debuted their latest concept in Houston. Located at 3422 Allen Pkwy, in the space formerly occupied by The Dunlavy, Flora offers a breathtaking culinary oasis along the Buffalo Bayou.
Housed in a luxurious 3,800-square-foot space, encased in glass windows, Flora emulates its predecessor’s pristine atmosphere complemented with over 40 suspended chandeliers and sweeping views of Buffalo Bayou while making a variety of interior changes. Additionally, the restaurant features an updated menu.
“With a new interior comes a new cuisine, one that explores the flavors and energy of the small towns of Mexico with a Texas touch. Cooper’s contemporary approach reimagines what Mexican food can be – offering familiar flavors and iconic dishes, newly interpreted.”
The restaurant has also nixed the possibility of private dining and events of any king.
“Flora strips away the formality of dining with a focus on clean, organic, high-quality food made with love, made by hand,” the restaurant wrote in an Instagram post.
“The stunning brass and marble bar, teeming with tequila and mezcal, sets the tone for a lively social scene with craft cocktails aplenty and the unparalleled outdoor terrace is guaranteed to be the quintessential Houston outdoor dining experience.”
Flora serves lunch and dinner, as well as brunch on weekends. As for their other projects, Flora opened Gratify, an European-inspired bistro in Rice Village this past year. Gratify’s design is sophisticated and chic. Its inspiration is heavily European, their intention, they describe to create “a contemporary Versailles – a grown-up escape from the everyday where the disco ball shimmers and the martinis flow.”
Flora is open. Reservations are now live on Resy for tables of 6 guests or less.
