The largest livestock show and rodeo returns to Houston this March. Ahead of the 20-day Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, POST Houston has introduced a brand new buckwild experience at its Skylawn rooftop in Downtown, Houston.
In honor of the most Texan event of the year, POST is saddling up for the season with its inaugural Rooftop Rodeo Kickoff at POST Skylawn. Running from now until Sunday, March 29, Rooftop Rodeo Kickoff is a sprawling Western-inspired pop-up and wonderland for all Houston cowboys and cowgirls.
Open from 5 pm to close nightly throughout its run, Rooftop Rodeo features a beautifully buck-wild curation of rodeo-inspired light installations across Skylawn. Here, visitors are invited to enjoy an array of themed cocktails and Texas beers. Furthermore, visitors can test their grit at the mechanical bull.

“As Houstonians, we know how fun and exciting rodeo season is in our city,” said Meredith Powell, general manager of POST Houston. “Rooftop Rodeo is the perfect place for guests to show off their rodeo style, spend time with friends and family, and enjoy our amazing Rodeo illuminations – all with the city’s skyline as the backdrop.”
Admission to Rooftop Rodeo Kickoff at POST is priced at $6 from Monday through Thursday, and at $9 Friday through Sunday. Entry is free for children ages 6 and under. Those who’ve patronized El Tiempo or Art Club are also entitled to free entry of the event.
POST Houston is located at 401 Franklin St. The venue’s operating hours are from 11 am – 9 pm Sunday through Wednesday; from 11 am – 10 pm Thursday through Saturday.
