Shamrock the party at Ducky McSchweeney’s. The new Irish pub opens today at 2025 Post Oak BLVD in the Galleria area with a four-day St. Patrick’s celebration!
Hope you’re wearing green, Houston, because it’s St. Patrick’s Day. If you missed out on the festive celebrations last weekend, well you’re in luck. Today, March 17, you can follow the rainbow to the Galleria, where Eighty Six’d Restaurant & Bar Group has just opened their newly-minted Ducky McShweeney’s Irish Pub.
The same group behind Bovine & Barley downtown, and The Fish in Midtown, Eighty Six’d is in the midst of rolling out three of their new projects, including Toque, Sushi on Post Oak, and Ducky McShweeney’s. As for the latter, owner Michael Collins explained, the idea came from the want of a small but sleek Galleria local to grab and drink and watch the game.
Fitted with dimly lit lights, a half dozen or so TVs, cozy furniture, and a handful of dart boards, the pub features a roster of eight beer taps, a wide selection of canned and bottled beers, as well as a crop of classic cocktails. Food-wise, the pub features a menu of burgers, wings, pizza, as well as fish and chips.
While the restaurant and bar group’s other openings have been relatively quiet, Ducky’s is seizing its rather appropriate debut with three days of festivities. From March 17 to March 20, the pub is hosting its inaugural World Famous St. Patty’s Day Block Party with food specials, pint specials, green beer, shot girls, DJs, and more.
In other local news, RARE Steakhouse Restaurant & Lounge is also opening today. Located at 4105 Washington Ave, the sexy new restaurant features USDA prime steaks, high-quality seafood selections, as well as southern-inspired dishes and appetizers.
