Despite slightly sunnier weather, a Hard Freeze Warning and Wind Chill Advisory are still in effect for south central and southeast Texas.
As of the time this article is published, The Weather Channel has issued a Hard Freeze Warning for the south-central and southeast regions, which will remain in effect until 9 am on Wednesday. This warning is prompted by anticipated sub-freezing temperatures, reaching as low as 13 degrees.

Additionally, The Weather Channel has issued a Wind Chill Advisory for the identical regions, extending until noon on Tuesday, January 16, due to the potential for cold wind chills dropping as low as 0 degrees.

This morning, ERCOT has issued a Conservation Appeal from 6 to 9 am. Presently, the ERCOT grid is back in the green with normal conditions and enough power for current demand.
The City of Houston advised Houstonians to stay off the roads if possible as conditions are still hazardous. Conditions yesterday were such that the Katy Freeway was shutdown in both directions due to icy roads and a series of accidents.
Temperatures are expected to top out at 35 degrees this Tuesday with sunny conditions. Overnight temperatures will go down to 21 degrees.
