The holiday season is prepared to launch! Soon enough, the city will come alive with holiday cheer. From outdoor ice rinks, to massive winter wonderlands, Christmas trains, and more: there’s much to look forward to this Yuletide season. This November, another one of our favorite holiday traditions will make its return with Galaxy Lights at Space Center Houston launching next month!
Billed as “Houston’s brightest holiday light show“, Galaxy Lights at Space Center Houston returns on November 15 for its seventh year. This year, the holiday light event will feature constellations of Christmas lights alongside Jupiter-sized installations, including its 30-foot-high Space Launch System rocket display and 40-foot-tall shooting star.

Furthermore, visitors can fall down a wormhole and moonwalk through its 200-foot LED light tunnel, float along its Apollo-themed lantern activations, and ride the LED swings underneath its 747 Boeing aircraft above the launch pad. Space Center Houston will also host daily screenings of Holidays in Space as well as host music-synchronized crystal fireworks light shows.
For the full holiday experience, ground control encourages visitors to warm up at Space Center Houston’s fire pits, where guests can enjoy hot cocoa, s’mores, as well as cans of the new Starbase beer, Go for Launch.
“Galaxy Lights is more than a holiday tradition—it’s a celebration of innovation and Houston’s unique history,” said Marty Pell, CEO of Wellby Financial, the Official Credit Union of Space Center Houston. “We’re excited to partner with Space Center Houston to illuminate the path for families, dreamers, and future explorers, and to create lasting memories in the heart of our city.”

Galaxy Lights at Space Center Houston takes place from November 15 to January 4, 2026, from 6 pm – 10 pm on operating nights. Galaxy Nights will not be open November 17 – 19, November 27, December 10, December 24, and December 25. Tickets to the experience are now available for purchase through the official Space Center Houston website starting at $19.95.
