The holiday season is on its way to Houston. To add to the excitement this year, among all the cheerful pop-ups, light shows, markets, and more, Houston area residents will have another attraction to look forward to. The fabled Polar Express will return to the Galveston Railroad Museum this November where it will remain for the duration of the holiday season.
One might think that the North Pole is unreachable for us here in the south. However, this holiday season, Houston-area residents will be able get a taste this November at the Galveston Railroad Museum[.
Here, visitors can visit the storied Polar Express. Not only will visitors be able to see the enchanting Christmas steam engine, but will be able to take a ride to the North Pole.
“Your journey begins just like the 2004 motion picture when THE POLAR EXPRESS™ will pick you up at the Galveston Railroad Museum vintage train station to take you to the North Pole,” the event website reads.

“You will get to meet many of the characters from the film including the conductor, the singing chefs, the hobo, and of course the main man himself, Santa Claus. You and your family, hopefully dressed in your PJs, will experience a fun filled theatrical journey, you may even tangle with caribou as THE POLAR EXPRESS™ story unfolds.”
Furthermore, the Polar Express journey will be curated by singing chefs who will be on hand to serve cookies and hot chocolate. Also expected to make an appearance on the holiday-themed excursion is Santa Claus. For those on the Nice List, the Big Man will present a Silver Sleigh Bell.
The Polar Express is a two-hour train ride that takes place at the Galveston Railroad Museum at 2602 Santa Fe Pl, Galveston from November 14 to December 23, 2025. Officials recommend passengers arrive at the station 30 minutes before departure.
