September is here, Houston! While we know all too well that the month is essentially the second leg of summer here in Texas, it’s not going to stop us from rounding up our favorite fall activities in Houston and jumping into them head on like a pile of crisp autumn leaves.
One surefire way to enjoy the season’s bounty is at one or more of the best fall festivals Houston has to offer. From pumpkin patches, carnival rides, apple bobbing, hayrides, and more: here are the best Houston fall festivals this season!
1. Houston Pumpkin Festival
Following its smash-hit debut this past year, Houston Pumpkin Festival returns to Discovery Green this September with an amazing autumn wonderland. Here, visitors can delight in pumpkin patches, a giant pumpkin bouncing area, pumpkin houses, among kayaks, sunflowers, and more fall fun!

2. P-6 Farms

P6 Farms’ fantastic Fall Fest returns this September with an un-gourd-ly amount of entertainment for the whole family. Its pumpkin patch features over 30,000 pumpkins for the picking. Other festival favorites are making their return this year, including a giant corn maze, animal barn, festival foods and delectable treats, and tons of other attractions!

3. Dewberry Farm
Named one of Houston’s best rated pumpkin patches, Dewberry Farm’s wonderful fall festival returns this mid September with over 40 rides and attractions, a Texas-sized pumpkin patch, 8-acre Peanuts-themed corn maze, fall eats β including the featured Dewberry Farm’s Wizarding Butter Brew, and more!
New attractions this fall include The Haunted Barn as well as The Pumpkin Twister, CORNado, Phantoms Revenge, and The Gold Rush Coaster rides. Plus, Dewberry Farms will host BOOrific Nights from September 27 β November 3, with terrific attractions ranging from Haunted Hollow’s Trail of Terror, Spooky Acres Creepy Corn Maze, Frankenstein Foam Pit, and more.

4. Scarecrow Festival
Don’t get any Jeepers Creepers, they many terrific scarecrows at Chappell Hill’s annual fall festival are harmless. The two-day festival slated for this October is set to feature over 400 vendors, as well as live music and other entertainment, family-friendly fun, and more in Downtown Chappell Hill.

5. Froberg’s Farm and Country Store

Home of Brazoria County’s largest fall festival, Froberg’s Farm and Country Store is ready to roll out the orange carpet for all things fall this September. Its annual corn maze is a certified favorite, but festival attractions don’t stop there. Plastic duck rages, paintball galleries, megaslide, bee coaster, and pumpkin patch will also return for all families to enjoy this fall.

6. Nature Discovery Center Pumpkin Patch Fall Festival
Enjoy scrumptious fall foods, festival games, crafts, animals, and a plethora of pumpkins at Nature Discovery Center’s Pumpkin Patch Fall Festival this October. Ashy Legs BBQ, Mily’s On The Road Taqueria, and New Orleans Style Sno-Balls food trucks will all be on-site during the two-day festival. The event runs from 11 am to 4 pm both days.

7. Fall Fest at Sugar Land Town Square
Sugar Land’s annual one-off fall fest will once again fill up Town Square with fabulous autumn entertainment. Here, visitors will be able to enjoy seasonal activities for the whole family including hayrides through the square, live music, delicious food, and more! The event runs from 10 am to 3 pm.

8. Blessington Farms Fall Fun at The Farm
Kicking off September 20, Blessington Farms’ Fall Fun at the Farm is set to feature two months of exciting autumn activities. Featuring over 20 fall photo-ops, pumpkin patches, as well as an exciting array of attractions for the kiddos, Fall Fun at the Farm is the perfect autumn event for the family! General admission for visitors 3+ are priced at $25 (tax included).

9. Old Time Christmas Tree Farm
While not a fall festival per sΓ©, the Old Time Christmas Tree Farm will reprise their festive pumpkin patch this October. Hosted on weekends throughout the month, the farm will feature a U-pick pumpkin patch as well as carnival-style eats, attractions for the kiddos, rides, as well as plenty of photo-ops for the whole family.

10. Texas Renaissance Festival

The largest renaissance festival in the United States is celebrating its 50th anniversary this October with over 70 acres of period-appropriate entertainment. From early October to December, the massive festival will feature themed weekends ranging from barbarians to pirates and highlanders.
Over the course of 8 weeks, visitors can enjoy head-sized turkey legs, live sword swallowers and carnival acrobatics, giant flagons of mead, and much much more in the village!

11. Big Blanket Festival
Houston’s super wholesome picnic festival is back with blankets this November! Big Blanket is set to lay it down at The Founders Court Grove between Hermann Park and Rice University, the festival is a giant picnic complete with good food, music, crafts, activities, and more in one cozy fall experience!
