Hard to think that here in low-to-mid-90s temperatures that summer is almost over – in theory at least. While the temperatures are sure to stay in place, “hotumn” is on the horizon with a range of fall events kicking off this September. Among the many highly anticipated events – including Pumpkins After Dark – include the return of the Discovery Green Houston Pumpkin Festival.
First launched this past year, the Houston Pumpkin Festival at Discovery Green was an instant success. Here, organizers transform the Downtown urban green space into a full-scale autumn wonderland. The magical seasonal event features the likes of pumpkin houses, a giant pumpkin bouncing area, Cinderella’s carriage, as well as sunflowers, kayaks, train rides, and more.

“Step into a storybook of fall magic at Discovery Green. From bouncing on giant pumpkins to walking through sunflowers and glittering trees, this is where autumn dreams come to life for kids and grown-ups alike.”
In addition to its pumpkin festival, Discovery Green has a full lineup of other excellent events and activations lineup for this fall. Featured events in its program include:
Dogfest on September 13, Southern Smoke Festival on October 4, Korean Festival on October 11 and 12, Bank of America’s Screen on the Green screening A Minecraft Movie on September 27 and The Nightmare Before Christmas on October 24, Scream on the Green on October 25, and a Dia de Los Muertos celebration on Sunday, November 2.

The Houston Pumpkin Festival at Discovery Green runs from Saturday, September 20, to Sunday, November 2. Once in motion, the festival will be open from 3 – 10 pm Monday through Thursday and from 10 am – 10 pm Friday through Sunday. The festival is a ticketed event, though prices nor tickets have yet been made available. Stay tuned for more details!
