Bun B might be known as the King of Trill, but over the past few years the Houston rap artist and has been making major noise in the world of food with his fast-casual burger pop-up, Trill Burgers.
Since day one, the hype has been heavy, and at long last Trill Burgers Houston restaurant finally opens today, June 7, at 3607 South Shepherd in Montrose.
Trill Burgers is the product between Bun B, Andy Nguyen of Afters Ice Cream, and siblings Patsy and Benson Vivares of Sticky’s Chicken.
The newly opened burger restaurant specializes in the West Coast-style of hamburger AKA smashburger that is basically what it sounds like: burgers with thin, compressed patties with crispy edges and a toasted flavor.

Since its inception, the smashburger concept has made its way across the country, making the pop-up rounds, dishing out bites to hungry Coachella crowds in California.
All would culminate in an appearance on Good Morning America where Trill Burgers received the title of “The Best Burger in North America“ by contest judges.
Now, the iconic burger pop-up is making a permanent home in Montrose on the corner of Shepherd Drive and Richmond Avenue. This past December, Bun B made the announcement that the Trill Burgers brick-and-mortar would take over the former James Coney Island hotdog storefront at 3607 South Shepherd in Montrose.

In the past couple months, the burger concept has posted a number of videos teasing the store’s opening, hosting a family and friends day as well as inviting celebrities including rapper-turned-Fast-and-Furious-franchise star, Ludacris hyping up the burgers in the new store.
Today, Wednesday, June 7, Trill Burgers opens at 3607 South Shepherd in Montrose from 11 am to 9 pm. Be apprised, the restaurant will be in its soft opening phase, so the drive-thru will not yet be open. Expect long lines and burgers worth the wait.
