Fresh off of their victory on Good Morning America’s “United States of Burgers” competition, Bun B’s Trill Burgers is bringing their flavor back to Houston with two neighborhood pop-ups.
Bun B, Houston born rapper and one-half of legendary duo, UGK, made noise in the culinary world a couple years ago with the announcement of his fast-casual burger pop-up, Trill Burgers. Since then, the man has taken his culinary concept across the country to California for a brief Coachella stint before competing and winning the Best Burger in America competition on Good Morning America in New York.
“In celebration of Bun B Day (8/30), we’re working with @houston to make the city hall event family-friendly with Trill Burgers and some of @bunb’s favorite local food trucks,” the smash-burger joint wrote in an Instagram post.
“These are our first Houston pop-ups since we were named best burger in America by @goodmorningamerica. We want to celebrate this big win for us and our city with the people of Houston!”
The burger joint is the product between the King of Trill, Andy Nguyen of Afters Ice Cream, and siblings Patsy and Benson Vivares of Sticky’s Chicken. Trill Burgers specializes in smashburgers – a West Coast-style of hamburger that is basically what it sounds like: burgers with thin, compressed patties with crispy edges and a toasted flavor.
“We’ll have our full menu available: OG Trill Burger, Grilled Onion Burger, Vegan Smashburger and fries. First-come, first-served until we sell out.”
The first Trill Burger pop-up is slated to take place at 8th Wonder Brewery on Sunday, August 14, from noon to 6 pm. The second, on Bun B Day, August 30, at Houston City Hall from 3 pm to 7 pm.
