Untitled Art is a cutting-edge contemporary art showcase known for its noteworthy galleries and curatorial integrity that is held in Miami each December. The flagship of Miami Art Week is planning an expansion into Texas, with the debut of Untitled Art in Houston this September – cementing yet another touchstone to Houston’s burgeoning art scene.
The announcement comes on the heels of the Washington Post naming two Houston museums on their Best Art Museums of America lists. Recently, the Art Dealers Association of America (ADAA) honored Houston as its first Spotlight city its annual Art Show in New York.

In an effort to engage new audiences across the region, Untitled Art, founded by collector and entrepreneur Jeffrey Lawson, is expanding into Texas this coming year with its inaugural Houston art fair at the George R. Brown Convention Center from September 19 to September 21.
Untitled Art in Houston will feature local, regional, and international artist at its inaugural event. Featured artists include:

“Texas – and Houston specifically with its vast resources, great cultural wealth and standing as a gateway to Latin America – offers a myriad of opportunities to a growing brand like Untitled Art,” said Lawson in a press release. “Since its inception, we have worked diligently to create a premium platform that is engaging, experimental and welcoming to all, a combination we think will resonate well in this market.”
Michael Slenske, Los Angeles-based writer and curator, will assume the role of Director for Untitled Art, Houston.
“Over the past decade and a half, I’ve had the pleasure of seeing Houston’s art landscape evolve firsthand, and there’s seemingly no limit to the potential of the city’s cultural infrastructure,” Slenske said in a press release.
Over three days, Untitled Art Fair will feature art markets, special projects, presentations, live podcasts, and more. Throughout Untitled Art Fair in Houston, the event will feature a variety of special projects:
- Rick Lowe Studio-presented Prologue (2025) with emerging Houston artists: Kaima Marie Akarue, Crystal Coulter, Roslyn Dupre, Sajeela Siddiq, and Ian Williams.
- Drawing Power (2022 – 2025) by Isabelle Brourman expressionistic examination of high-profile U.S. trials.
- Street Campaign (2025) byEl Franco Lee II showcase at The Houston Museum of African American Culture (HMAAC) immersive installation honoring the artist’s late father, Harris County Commissioner El Franco Lee.
- Mel Chin’s Pool of Light (2024) tribute to mid-20th century office women. Presented with PAC public, the installation is a massive chandelier created from around 100 dismantled office chairs.
This September, Untitled Art Fair will launch the the Houston Artist Market, a dynamic retail environment for local artists and collectives. Curated by F Magazine’s Adam Marnie, the market will feature Jardin, Rising Tide, Basket Books & Art, The Reading Room, St. Agnes Academy, and FLATS.
Untitled Art and the Buffalo Bayou Partnership’s Cistern will host a site-specific performance by Lita Albuquerque, creator of Light and Space, and her daughter, choreographer Jasmine Albuquerque. Set in the Cistern’s subterranean chambers, the intimate work blends movement, myth, and Lita’s signature explorations of light and the cosmos. Details on timing and tickets will be announced soon, and Lita will also exhibit with Michael Kohn Gallery at Untitled Art, Houston.
The art fair will also host its self-titled podcast, putting on a diverse array of Houston artists, gallerists, curators, and more: with notable Houston figures that include Bun B, Chris Shepherd, Anne Samat, and more.
Throughout the fair, Untitled Art, will award four newly introduced prizes, including:
- CAMH Commission Prize
- The Casa Santa Ana Residency Prize
- The PAC Art Residency Prize
- The Hotel Lucine Artist Retreat Prize
Untitled Art Fair takes place in Houston from September 19 to September 21 at the George R. Brown Convention Center, Hall A3, 1001 Avenida de las Americas. The fair will host a special VIP and press preview on Thursday, September 18.
