A fixture since 1989, Traders Village Houston is a massive open-air flea market and weekend destination in northwest Houston. Spanning 105 acres, the weekend market features between 1,500 and 2,000 vendors, amusement rides, and fair-like atmosphere.
As an extension of the Traders Village brand established in Grand Prairie in 1973, Traders Village Houston opened at 7979 N Eldridge Rd. in Houston in 1989. Over the years, officials have added to the market – adding food vendors, special events, and Six Flags-worthy amusement rides. Today, it’s the largest market on the Texas Gulf Coast and one of the Houston area’s best-known weekend markets.
Operating on Saturdays and Sundays, Traders Village Houston spans 105 acres in northwest Houston. Featuring over 1,500 vendors, visitors can find everything from antiques to clothing, electronics, toys, artworks, records, collectibles, vintage items, and plants.
A large draw of the flea market are the many on-site eats. Appropriate to the carnival-like atmosphere, Traders Village Market features a wide array of fair bites, including the likes of corn dogs, funnel cakes, kettle corn, turkey legs, snow cones, and more. Featured highlights include Gary’s Grill, Buenos Nachos, and Antojitos Heydi’s Food Truck.
Visitors can find many of the food vendors clustered about the market’s rides. Among its 10 attractions on the grounds, that include classics like bumpers cars and a carousel, visitors can enjoy large-scale rides like the 128-feet-high Fleafall, 5-story-high Pharoah’s Fury, and 80′ Star Dancer tower. Individual rides are priced at $3.29. All-day ride wristbands are priced at $14.99.
Traders Village Houston also regularly hosts in-person events. Presently, the market is hosting World Cup watch parties on Saturdays and Sundays through July 19th. Here, the market is screening matches on a big screen TV with foosball tables, vendor giveaways, and options for beer, margaritas, and snow cones.
The market will also host a July 4th celebration, featuring $1 hotdogs, a live DJ, access to 1,200 vendors, World Cup screening, carnival rides, and more from 10 am – 6 pm on July 4th.
Traders Village Houston is open from 9 am – 6 pm on Saturdays and Sundays. Parking is priced at $6.
