Today, Buc-ee’s is a beloved local institution and destination convenience store. It’s a mandatory stop on road trips, where – whether or not filling up the tank – customers drop in for barbecue, Beaver Nuggets, or to score some sweet merch. While the gas station convenient store is now iconic for these reasons, it first became known for its spotless restrooms.
While the aforementioned fact my not be a surprise to many (Buc-ee’s bathrooms are immaculate, after all) it may be a surprise this is no small part due to the fact that Buc-ee’s properly pays their custodial staff with decent wages.

It was a surprise to Tiktoker, Roxie Abernathy, who recently uploaded a video upon the revelation that Buc-ee’s custodial staff earn as much as her joh in case management.
“yesterday i found out that the buc-ee’s gas station pays their restroom janitorial staff the same hourly wage as my job in case management,” the video text reads. “after asking for a raise. i haven’t been the same since.”
Abernathy would go on to upload another video outlining the wages of Buc-ee’s employees as displayed on signage outside store locations.

The position that Abernathy referred to was the car wash operator position, which nets $19 per hour for employees.
“No hate to these positions at all. These are all very important lines of work.”
Other Full Time (35 – 50 hours a week) positions as listed on the signage reveals that restroom crews make $18 an hour, team leaders up to $21 and hour, and Department Managers up to $31 an hour.
Buc-ee’s also matches 401k accounts up to 6% and allows for 3 weeks paid time off– 10 days more than the average paid vacation per year.
