The oldest – and hardest to pronounce – town in Texas is set to host its 36th annual Texas Blueberry Festival this June.
The Texas Blueberry Festival in Nacogdoches is a longstanding tradition that celebrates its regional harvest and the community. Back in 1989, Nacogdoches locals Leon and Patsy Hallman teamed up with community leaders and volunteers to launch a budget-friendly event for families that highlighted downtown businesses and attractions.

Today, the festival is the only state-sanctioned blueberry festival in Texas. On June 13, 2026, the festival will return with a massive celebration expecting around 20,000 attendants in downtown Nacogdoches.
Events will kick off at 7:30 am on Saturday with the Running of the Blueberries, followed by a blueberry pancake breakfast.
Over the course of the day, the Texas Blueberry Festival will offer free, fun activities for the whole family to enjoy. Highlights include a bounce park, make-and-take crafts, a pet parade, pie-eating contests, a washer board tournament, and a variety of vendors. Throughout the festival grounds will be over 100 vendors, including the Blueberry Hill Soda & Sweet Shoppe.
Additionally, the festival will feature cooks of all experience levels competing in blueberry pie and cupcake contests, judged on both taste and presentation. Throughout the event, the festival will feature live music – including acoustic folk, country, jazz, and soft rock – performed at multiple stages across downtown and in Festival Plaza.

In addition to the thousands of pounds of fresh blueberries for sale, the festival provides free shuttles to local farms where visitors can take a tour and pick their own berries.
If you’re planning a trip for the weekend, the festival kickoff Blueberry Bluegrass Concert will take place Friday, June 12 in Festival Park. The concert will feature an on-site petting zoo, bounce house, face painting, train rides, and local food vendors.
