Baseball is getting even bigger in Houston. Now open, Taroko Sports is a new 20,000-square-foot entertainment complex in Katy, featuring state-of-the-art batting cages, bowling, an arcade, and more!
Taroko Sports, subsidiary of Taiwan’s largest entertainment group, TRK Corporation, has debuted its first American entertainment complex in Katy. While the venue provides a ballpark’s worth of attractions for the whole family, its centerpiece is its cutting-edge batting cages.
“Our goal is to broaden the appeal of the batting cage, which can be fun for all baseball skill levels, and bring it out of tucked away facilities,” said TRK Corporation and founder, Gordon Hsieh.
“Taroko Sports puts a new, technology-driven spin on the classic American pastime via its immersive gaming elements in order to deliver a world-class, family friendly experience.”
Taroko Sports features 10, state-of-the-art batting cage lanes in which visitors have the opportunity for fast-pitch and slow-pitch softball as well as eight baseball lanes featuring adjustable speeds up to 80 mph.
Additionally, the 20,000-square-foot venue features a wide variety of other sports-driven games ranging from air hockey, to pitching cages, and miniature bowling. Electronic darts, high-tech 5D racing simulators, and video games are also available at the arcade.
Furthermore, Taroko Sports provides basketball fans a chance to practice their jump shot with five, large-scale basketball games with options for skill-based hardwood and true-to-scale free throw games.
To ensure that visitors don’t miss out on any of the IRL sports action, the venue is equipped with numerous big screen TVs throughout the facility tuned in to the wide world of sports as well as plenty of seating.
As far as food and drinks, the venue houses a full kitchen offering a menu of classic comfort favorites, ranging from chicken wings, to pizzas, corn dogs, and tater tots. For adults, beer and wine areavailable at its bar.
Taroko Sports officially opens up to the public on Friday, March 28 at 24539 Katy Fwy, Katy, TX 77494. On opening day, the venue will feature a special 50% off on all games and activations from 5 pm to 9 pm! Once running, its normal hours will consist of 11 am to midnight Monday through Friday and from 10 am to midnight Saturday and Sunday.
