Driving in Houston might not be what one might consider fun, but soon it will be. Velocity: Sim Racing Lounge is gearing up to open a brand new 5,000-square-foot facility at Sawyer Yards in Houston early next year.
Opening early 2025, Velocity Sim Racing Lounge is a premium simulation racing experience with professional-grade simulators. Opening at 2110 Edward St. in Sawyer Yards, Velocity is set to feature 16 world-class racing simulators equipped with 180-degree panoramic displays and full motion systems – making it the next closest thing to tearing down the track.
The simulators give aspiring drivers the opportunity to take their dream cars – with vehicles ranging from Lamborghini to Porsche – on some of the most iconic tracks in the world including Circuit of the Americas, Silverstone Circuit, and Laguna Seca. But professional tracks aren’t the only areas gamers can drive.
In addition to more scenic roads across America, such as Pacific Coast Highway in California, the simulators will also give Houstonians the chance to actually drive in the city. Through a partnership with Authentic Simulation gaming studio, Velocity is creating simulations of Houston roads including I-610, where riders can for once in their lives, beat traffic.
Velocity is a concept from its Texas-raised founder and owner Viet Tran.
“Velocity will be a true destination for car, motorcycle and racing enthusiasts, from someone who’s looking for a fun night out to the most dedicated racers looking to improve their lap time,” Tran said. “Our goal is to create a community, and I’m excited to introduce this unique concept to Houston.”
Veloctiy Sim Racing Lounge in Houston will also feature a food and drink menu. Regarding the latter, visitors can enjoy racing-themed libations with flavors from across the globe at its full bar.
Velocity plans to open at 2110 Edwards St in Sawyer Yards early 2025. Stay tuned for more details!
