There are no shortages of festivities in Houston this April. From a steampunk festival in Galveston to the return of the Art Car Parade and Ball, the festival line-up in Houston this month is certainly worth celebrating. There are, however, less music festivals in Houston than we’d prefer which is why we’re all the more excited at the arrival of Tacos & Tequila Festival this weekend.
Tacos & Tequila Festival hosts their inaugural Houston festival this April blending tequila, margaritas, and street tacos with a curated lineup of hip-hop icons including the likes of T.I., Lil Jon, Paul Wall, and more.

The festival first launched in 2021 as a celebration of Mexican cuisine, drinks, and music. On April 12, Tacos & Tequila Festival hosts its first Houston endeavor at the Sam Houston Race Park.
As described on its event site, the festival “is throwing back more than just tequila at Houston’s newest festival” with a line-up of established hip-hop artists including T.I., Lil Jon, Twista, and Chingy. The festival will also feature a number of Houston hip-hop icons including Paul Wall and Mike Jones, as well as Petey Pablo, Yung Joc, and DJ Ashton Martin.
Hence the festival’s name, Tacos & Tequila will also feature a selection of chef-inspired street tacos, craft margaritas, and a tequila tasting lounge. Other attractions at the festival include lucha libre wrestling, salsa & queso competition, an exotic car showcase, as well as its signature chihuahua beauty pageant.
Featured vendors at the Houston festival include Dulce Vida Treats, El Guajillo Food Truck, Jresey Dogs, Taquerias Arandas, Tacos y Tequila, and Gumbo Xpress Twisted Kitchen.

Tickets to the Tacos & Tequila Festival in Houston are presently on sale, starting at $69 (+ taxes and fees). General Admission tickets for two are also on sale at $99 (+ taxes and fees) as well as VIP tickets starting at $159 (+ taxes and fees) – which include three margs, a taco flight, and front of stage access.
Tacos & Tequila Festival in Houston takes place on Saturday, April 12, at the Sam Houston Race Park located at 7575 North Sam Houston Pkwy W.
