Hard to believe it but the FIFA World Cup 2026 is almost here! In preparation for the unbridled futbal festivities soon to come, Sugar Land has announced Sugar Land Social District at Sugar Land Town Square and First Colony Mall where visitors can enjoy the area’s elevated dining, entertainment, and bar scene – complete with walkable dining and drinks. This weekend, the district will celebrate its launch with its annual Christmas Tree Lighting, free FIFA World Cup koozies, hot chocolate, and more!
Though somewhat of an unassuming Houston area, Sugar Land is filled with top-tier entertainment, dining, and exciting destinations – ranging from the Sugar Land Space Cowboys triple-A stadium, to LIT Bookbar, and Houston’s longest zipline at Go Ape, among others.

This weekend, Sugar Land will get even better with the debut of the Sugar Land Social District. As described in a press release, the Sugar Land Social District is a lively new destination where residents and visitors alike can enjoy alcoholic beverages purchased from participating establishments in an outdoor setting.
The new space is meant to enhance the experience of Sugar Land’s entertainment, dining, and retail scene, as well as support those participating local businesses.
“As part of our city’s Strategic Action Plan and Stimulating Economic Growth All-In Initiative, this new social district isn’t just about enjoying a drink outdoors; it’s about creating a more connected and walkable community,” said Strategic and Government Affairs Management Analyst for the City of Sugar Land, Teagan Trammell, in a statement.
“By encouraging people to explore our local restaurants and bars on foot, we’re strengthening the bonds between residents, visitors, and businesses while showcasing the vibrant culture that makes Sugar Land stand out.”

The Social District will be open from 7 am – 2::15 am Monday through Saturday, and from noon to 2:15 am on Sundays. During which time, visitors may explore the area’s eating and drinking destinations on foot, so long as the beverages are purchased from participating businesses in clearly marked cups.
Participating businesses at the Sugar Land Social District include:
- Flying Saucer Draught Emporium
- Little Woodrow’s Sugar Land
- Baker Street Pub & Grill
- B.B. Italia Bistro & Bar
- Fish City Grill
- Jupiter Pizza & Waffle Co.
