Back in June 2022, FIFA selected Houston as one of the 16 host cities throughout Canada, Mexico, and the USA to host the 2026 FIFA World Cup games. In total, there will be 104 games played between 48 teams across North America.

What 2026 World Cup matches will be played in Houston?
Houston is slated to host seven of the 2026 World Cup matches at NRG Stadium. Five group matches as well as two knockout round games will take place in Houston every three days beginning Sunday, June 14, up until a knockout round game on July 4th! For dedicated World Cup fans, Dallas will host a semi-final match on Tuesday, July 14, at the AT&T Stadium.

If you recall, Dallas was initially (and heavily) rumored to host the World Cup final. Ultimately, and unfortunately for those of us in Texas, the 2026 World Cup final will be held on Sunday, July 19, at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.
