
Lucky for us, it’s St. Patrick’s Day this weekend! In between all the Irish-inspired bar crawls, concerts, and festivities, be sure to attend the St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Houston, where the streets of downtown will be alive with floats, bands, Irish-themed festivities.
Billed as one of the largest St. Patrick’s Day parades in the United States, the Houston St. Patrick’s Day Parade is now 64 years in the running – dating back to 1959. On Saturday, March 15, the Irish-themed parade returns to the city with all sorts of entertainment for the whole family.

The FREE, two-hour event is set to kick off at the Clock Tower at Daikin Park (formerly Minute Maid Park), Houston at noon. Lead by Grand Marshal, Mr. Ian Martin, the parade will feature over 100 floats, bands, and marchers traversing through the area.
Following the parade, Houston’s POST market will be hosting an award ceremony, where judges will announce the winners of the best and most creative floats. The POST St. Patrick’s Day event will also feature an Irish market, as well as folk dances, bands, and a Pot O’Gold Scavenger Hunt.

The Houston St. Patrick’s Parade will coincide with the 18th annual Houston Irish Stew Cook-off and Music Festival. Running from 11 am to 6 pm a Woodlands Social (313 E Woodland St.) , the indoor/outdoor cook-off and festival will feature hearty Irish stew as well as a competition for the best Irish dish, dessert, coffee, and chili.
Visitors can also enjoy bagpipers, Irish dancers, face painters, local vendors, and more. The event will also see the return of the World-Famous Billy Carr Stout Relay.
Entry for the Irish Stew Cook-Off and Music Festival is priced at $15, children aged 12 and under permitted free entrance.
