Head over to Karbach Brewery this weekend for the return of the amazing Otaku Food Festival! Following in the footsteps of the Asian Night Market, Otaku Food Fest made its debut in Houston in 2021. Organized by TanukiGo, a longstanding Japanese street food vendor and food festival feature, Otaku Food Festival returns this weekend with a special Lunar New Year’s Celebration at Karbach Brewery!
The food market first took place summer of 2021 at the Vietnamese Community Center. In addition to an array of Asian street vendors, the festival featured a cosplay contest, parade, and Itasha car show. This time around, Otaku is going ever bigger with a spectacular Lunar New Year-themed festival.
Beginning at noon this Saturday, February 8, the Otaku Food Festival will feature two days lion dances, martial arts demonstrations, a sumo tournament, cosplay contests, and an anime village with multiple anime vendors, and more!
The festival will feature over 100 street food vendors across the continent of Asia, including vendors serving Thai, Japanese, Taiwanese, Filipino, Vietnamese street foods, and more.
Entry to the food festival is free and requires no prior RSVP. Most vendors accept credit card, but visitors ought to carry cash just in case. Otaku Food Festival starts at noon on February 8 going until 8 pm, and runs from noon to 5:30 pm on the February 9 – wrapping just in time to catch the Super Bowl. This weekend’s festival might go down as the best one yet, you don’t want to miss it!
