The Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo might be the star of the show, but it’s not the only rodeo in town. Not to be overshadowed, the Montgomery County Fair and Rodeo is a 10-day event and celebration of Western culture. The MCFA is set to return this April with rowdy rodeo entertainment, live concerts, a carnival, and all sorts of family fun. Continue below for more details!
What is the Montgomery County Fair and Rodeo?
The Montgomery County Fair and Rodeo is a longstanding tradition founded in 1957. What started as a field day of sorts, has evolved into a large-scale event that annually draws some 80,000 attendants.
Compared to the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo, which the New York Times once called “the Super Bowl of country culture”, the Montgomery County Fair and Rodeo is a more Friday Night Lights version; that is, just as much excitement but with the spirit of a small Texas town.
