It was around this time last year that the Michelin Guide made its official Texas introduction. At its inaugural ceremony, Michelin bequeathed Six Michelin Stars to Houston restaurants (among 15 Stars across the state), along with 17 Bib Gourmands, and seven Michelin Recommended restaurants.
Last night, Michelin hosted a ceremony at Wortham Theater Center in Houston, where the company announced Michelin Guide Texas: Year Two. While Houston restaurants’ performance weren’t exactly as stellar as last year’s, the city still shined with multiple Bib Gourmand awards.
The 2025 edition of the Michelin Guide distinguished three One Michelin Star Texas restaurants, as well as two Green Star restaurants, eight new Bib Gourmands, and 16 Recommended restaurants in Texas – totalling Texas’ count to 140 Michelin-distinguished restaurants.

The Texas restaurants to have received new One Michelin Star awards include Isidore and Nicosi in San Antonio, as well as Mamani in Dallas. Michelin Guide Texas also honored two Texas restaurants with Green Stars, including the aforementioned Isidore as well as Nixta Taqueria in Austin.
While the Michelin Guide Texas Second Edition didn’t feature any new Michelin-Starred restaurants in Houston, the six restaurants holding One Michelin Star ratings all retained their stars –which is a feat in of itself.
Furthermore, Michelin bestowed five Houston restaurants with new Bib Gourmand awards – which are reserved to those restaurants offering exceptional cuisine at affordable prices. New Houston Bib Gourmand restaurants include the following:
- Annam, 811 Buffalo Park Dr., Ste. 120
- ChòpnBlọk, 507 Westheimer Rd.
- de Gama Canteen, 600 N. Shepherd Dr., Ste. 520
