It’s about dang time! We’ve been saying it over and over, but Houston has some of the best food on the planet. Now, word has officially gotten out. Michelin Guide, is finally coming to Houston as well as four other Texas cities.

For the Texas Michelin Guide Houston, Dallas, San Antonio, Austin, and Fort Worth will all be included.
Why is the Michelin Guide coming to Texas?
Kind of a rhetorical question here, but in the release, the company highlighted the state’s rich and diverse culinary scene, noting its Tex-Mex, locally sourced seafood and steaks, and award-winning barbecue.
“The Texas culinary scene has proven to be an exhilarating one, with multicultural influences, homegrown ingredients and talent that is rich in ambition,” said International Director of the MICHELIN Guides, Gwendal Poullennec.
“Foodies and travel enthusiasts alike will find something to enjoy, with such a broad dining scene spanning farm-to-table dishes, fusion cuisine, upscale dining and the famous Texas-style barbecue. Texas is a perfect fit for the MICHELIN Guide, based on the experiences of our anonymous Inspectors.”
How will restaurants be rated for the Michelin Guide?
When to expect the first Texas Michelin Guide?
The company stated that the Michelin Guide Inspectors MICHELIN Guide Inspectors, who visit anonymously and pay for their meals, are already among us, assessing area restaurants.
In the press release, Michelin stated that its first Michelin Guide Texas will be released later this year.
Additionally, the 2024 Texas restaurant selection will include a curated list of unique hotels, all bookable via the Michelin Guide’s platform.
