Meow Wolf is finally open Houston! As one of the most anticipated openings of the year, Meow Wolf is now officially open with a kaleidoscopic amount of passageways, experiences, and curiosities!
What is Meow Wolf?
Meow Wolf is an art collective comprised of hundreds of artists and storytellers that creates experimental large-scale art venues that immerses visitors in impossibly fantastic immersive experiences. The highly acclaimed collective presently has four distinct experiences across the US, including venues in Santa Fe, Denver, Las Vegas, and most recently, Grapevine.
What to expect for Meow Wolf Houston?
No Meow Wolf venue is the same. Each venue is unique, and a journey in storytelling through cosmic themes that border on the surreal. As far its experience in Houston, details on its theme has thus far been relatively vague.
“In Houston we’ll engage a burgeoning arts community in the most diverse city in the nation, which we believe will result in a groundswell of revolutionary artistic expression.”
“The Texas experiences will be deeply rooted in artist collaboration and connected by concealed Easter eggs,” said Dale Sheehan, Executive Creative Director of Meow Wolf in a press release.
Meow Wolf Houston’s theme is Radio Tave. Radio Tave emulates a radio station filled with kaleidoscopic art, hidden passageways, and engaging mysteries to solve.
The venue also houses a psychedelic honky tonk speakeasy dubbed Cowboi Hevven inside its Houston location. The speakeasy bar will have a pool table, interactive jukebox, as well as a kitchen that serves Grool, Hot Slop, and a Fried Malarky Sandwich, among other things.
How to navigate Meow Wolf
With all the nooks, crannies, and secret passageways – navigating Meow Wolf might seem a little overwhelming. Here, visitors are encourage to follow their curiosities or as they state on their website: “dive headfirst into inter dimensional detective mode”.
A large aspect of Meow Wolf is its narrative storytelling, so if you sense a puzzle coming to life, follow your instincts and see the pieces emerge in all their weird splendor.

Where is Meow Wolf in Houston?
Meow Wolf is located at 2103 Lyons Ave Bldg 2 across from Saint Arnold’s in Fifth Ward, Houston.
How to get tickets for Meow Wolf in Houston?
The venue will gradually roll out ticket purchasing options over the next few weeks. Houston Portal Passes, otherwise known as season passes, are now available through the Meow Wolf website. On September 17, pre-sale tickets will become available for Portal Pass Holders.
On September 24, pre-sale tickets will go on sale for Meow Wolf email subscribers. General public tickets will become available on October 1, wherein ticket holders will be able to choose their date and arrival time.
Does Meow Wolf host events in Houston?
Yes. Meow Wolf regularly hosts programming at its US locations. While the venue hasn’t released its full Houston program, Meow Wolf has a special Adult-Verse (21+) event planned for November 14.
Why Houston?
Regarding their Houston experience, the arts company cited Houston’s large and diverse population as well as community of artists as reasons for its decision to choose Space City as a destination.
