If Houston knows anything, it’s hamburgers. From historical haunts to no-frills, mom-and-pops, burger bodegas, bistros, and barns: wherever you are in the city: chances are you’re in close proximity to a top-notch burger spot. This May, the bloody good Portland-founded burger spot, Killer Burger, is set to open up shop in Houston.
Killer Burger is a fast-casual restaurant founded in Portland. Not unlike fellow Portland concept, Voodoo Doughnut, Killer Burger gained a cult following with its bold, creative culinary options.
Most famously, Killer Burger is known for its Peanut Butter Pickle Bacon burger. Served with bacon, peanut butter suace, house sauce, grilled onion, mayo, and pickles: it’s a burger that hits practically every flavor profile.

In addition to classic burger options, Killer Burger’s menu is populated with the likes of the following characters:
- Jose Mendoza – a smoky burger served with roasted green chiles, Monterey Jack cheese, and house sauce.
- Motley Que – a barbecue bacon burger served with crispy onions, Monterey Jack cheese, and house sauce
- Fun Guy – a mushroom Swiss burger served with bacon, grilled onions, and pickles.
Killer Burger also offers an array of chicken sandwiches, wraps, and kids menu options. Sides-wise, patrons can choose from fries or onion rings with sauces that range from its signature Peanut Butter Sauce, as well as house-made alioli (House Sauce), house-made spicy mayo (Spicy G Sauce), spicy habanero (Bomb Sauce), and more.

With over a dozen locations across four states, the burger shop continues to win “Best Burger” awards in its respective regions.
As with its Portland location, Killer Burger in Houston plans to serve an array of local craft beers. Soda and water will also be available.
Killer Burger will officially open its 2,500-square-foot location at 1909 Taylor St., Ste A in Sawyer Heights Village on May 6.
