Houstonians can now explore the vast cultural inventory in Teso Life. Open on Westheimer, Teso Life is a Japanese department store loaded with Japanese fashion, home, culinary products, and more.
Whether you’re flushing all your coins into the store’s claw machines, stocking up on Japanese snacks, or just exploring the many unique products, the coming Teso Life outpost will be a welcome way to spend an afternoon in Houston.
Somewhere between a Japanese outlet store, bazaar, and Ikea, Teso Life describes itself as a “Japanese fashion casual life product department store”. The company, founded and headquartered in New York in 2017, now has five locations in the New York area with two stores slated to open in Texas, including an outpost at 12220 Westheimer Rd. in Houston.
Teso Life houses a vast amount of unique, Japanese cultural products in the areas of fashion – from traditional kimonos to current streetwear – beauty and cosmetics, art, and gastronomy – from snacks to gourmet ingredients and traditional confectionaries.
Via its website, Teso Life also features sections for kitchenware, office products, bath fixtures, toys, kids, & babies, digital accessories, digital accessories, pet supplies, jewelry, fresh fruit, and more.
The venue also houses a number of claw machines, adding to Houston’s growing group of claw machine arcades in the area.
In addition to products for purchase, the department store hosts a a variety of cultural events in the above areas. Other Teso Life outlets have been known to exhibit cooking classes and demonstrations, temporary exhibitions, music performances, tea ceremonies, and calligraphy demonstrations.
Teso Life is now open in Houston at 12220 Westheimer Rd. soon. Its latest outpost opened in Flushing, New York City this past May.
