Here in the second half of February, there’s a lot to be excited for. Mardi Gras! Galveston returns this weekend with two weeks of festivities, followed by the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo gracing the city with bull-riding, concerts, carnival, food and more, as well as St. Patrick’s Day and, for the students, Spring Break.

When is Houston schools Spring Break 2025?
The Houston Independent School District, HISD, schools Spring Break 2025 takes place from March 10 – March 14. Later that month, students will also have March 31 off for Chavez Huerta Day.

For interested families, these dates lineup with Family Wednesdays at the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo (March 19), where children aged 12 and under are permitted free admission to the Rodeo grounds until noon. The venue also features BOGO games and rides until 4 pm on Wednesdays.
