Houston Rockets fans have finally gotten their wish. Throwing it back to the iconic Hakeem Olajuwon era, the franchise just revealed its new uniforms for the 2026–27 season. The new kit features a nostalgic “ketchup and mustard” aesthetic, with a modernized update.
“Ketchup and mustard is back!” said Patrick Fertitta, vice chairman of the Rockets and Comets.
The 2026–27 Core Lineup
The team’s new primary uniforms are a direct nod to their mid-1990s championship sets. Anchored by a vibrant palette of bright red, classic “mustard” yellow, black, and white, the colors give off a major retro vibe. Yet, as the franchise highlighted in recent reveal videos, the finer design elements—such as the fonts, striping, and logo placement—perfectly balance that nostalgia with sleek, minimalist lines.
Produced by Nike, the core lineup features two primary designs:
- Icon Edition: Features ROCKETS boldly across the chest in the primary colorway.
- Association Edition: Flips the script with a light base and HOUSTON across the chest, serving as a direct nod to the city and the local fanbase.
Both the authentic on-court versions and the fan-friendly Swingman cuts are available through the official NBA Store and the team shop.
Alternates and the “H-Town” Look
The Statement Edition specifically leans into aggressive color blocking and bold typography, providing a sharp contrast to their more traditional home and away looks.
The Rockets also keep local culture at the forefront with their City Edition designs. Recent versions have proudly displayed “H-TOWN” across the chest in sleek, modernized fonts.
