Today we’ll be treated to the year’s first 8 pm sunset and later sunsets from then on.
According to Time and Date, after rising at 6:53 am the sun will then set over Houston at exactly 8:00 pm and won’t set before 8 pm again until Thursday, August 17.
After Daylight Saving Time began on Sunday, March 12, 2023, the clocks were pushed forwards bringing even brighter nights and longer days which have been climbing back up to long spring and summer days.
Climbing roughly a minute a day through to the longest day of the year, by the end of May the sun won’t be setting until 8:15 pm.
The longest day of 2023 will occur on Wednesday, June 21 (summer solstice) with a sunset at 8:25 pm and the day lasting 14 hours, 18 minutes, and 46 seconds.
