While there are some Houstonians who avoid the outdoors in the sweltering summertime, many of us get by just all right with a couple cold drinks and a sliver of shade. Just in time for second summer, Hadley Ice House has opened in Midtown.
There’s no end to the bars, restaurants, and beer gardens that populate the ever-growing Midtown area of Houston. While we’re sure you already have your list of favorites, go-to’s, and locals, it’s time to add another to the list.
Hadley Ice House is a vibrant open-air patio located at 2300 Louisiana St Houston TX. Opened earlier this past July, the colorful ice house features an array of Houston-themed murals, eye-catching furniture – swings included – as well as yard games, patio lights, and TVs of varying sizes.
From behind the bar, the Hadley Ice House serves an assortment of cocktails, beers, and shot-ready spirits.
Hadley features a kitchen with a menu comprised of American comfort food includes sliders, brisket grilled cheese, quesadillas, rib-eye, and burgers.
This weekend, the ice house is celebrating their grand opening with a blow-out party on August 13 and 14 complete with 40-foot water slides, $3 beers, and more.
In other patio news, Patterson Park, a massive new patio and rooftop bar is now open at 2205 Patterson St. The patio bar is a project from Lonnie Schiller, the restaurateur and co-founder of The Grove, Cafe Annie, and Cafe Express. Initial announcements came back in early 2020 pre-Covid. Of course, what would then transpire would set plans back a bit. Now, however, the indoor/outdoor bar has finally opened.
