Good God, Nadine’s is a new bar-forward restaurant and patio that aims to provide patrons with a verdant venue and patio, tasty Southern cuisine, and kitschy cocktails.
The restaurant is a project from Houston natives, Billy Trainor and Kyle Weibe, who own Verdegreens Farms. Located in Northwest Houston, Verdegreens Farms is an urban hydroponic farm that provides sustainable, localized produce to the community and surrounding farmers markets.
Given this, it makes sense that the two have opened a part-garden-themed restaurant. Designed by the renowned Gin Design Group – the same behind Haii Keii, ChópnBlok, Nonno’s Family Pizza Tavern and other notable Houston concepts – the 4,000-square-foot space is divided into three zones: a lush, garden patio; intimate, aesthetic indoor bar; garden patio; and covered, air-conditioned patio open year round.
With Good God, Nadine’s, the two aspire to cultivate a vibe channeling “the energy of everyone’s favorite eccentric aunt – the one with a full glass, an open door, and zero time for pretense”. As such, the cocktails are front and center at the new restaurant.
With options for frozens, craft cocktails, and draft wine, featured beverages at Good God, Nadine’s include The Houstonian (Butterfly Pea Gin, Creme de Violette, and Fever Tree Tonic; Serrano Pineapple T&T (tequila, pineapple, lime, and tonic); and Mango Sticky Rice (rice-based concoction with vodka, mango juice, Pandan leaf, and coconut milk).
As for its culinary options, the restaurant’s menu takes a playful, innovative approach to pan-Gulf cuisine inspired by the likes of Creole, Caribbean, Vietnamese, and Mexican traditions. Featured dishes include the Prawn Party shareable spread, Fried Chicken Coq au Vin, Meatloaf Wellington, and Pho-Spiced Pork Chops.
Good God, Nadine’s is located at 33 Waugh Drive in The Heights open from 4 pm to midnight daily. Happy Hour is offered daily from 4 pm to 7 pm.
