Go big this Fourth of July in Baytown. Year after year, Baytown hosts one of the best Independence Day celebrations in the Houston area – and this year is no different. This week, Baytown is going even bigger for America’s 250th. Expecting thousands in attendance, the festival will feature cannon firings, a signature fireworks show, and free performance by Eli Young Band.
Baytown will mark the United States’ 250th anniversary with an expansive Independence Day festival at Bicentennial Park. Tracing back to the ’50s, the free, family-friendly celebration is regularly one of the community’s most beloved events.
Here, attendants can expect a day full of family-friendly activities, live music, and patriotic activations.
Historical reenactment groups, including the 1st Texas Naval Squadron and Texas Army, will set up Frontier Day exhibits, demonstrate period equipment, and fire authentic cannons. The festival will also host a real bald eagle from 5 pm to 7 pm for photo-ops.
The celebration will also introduce new milestone activities, including the America Mile Run—a two-hour endurance loop in peak Texas heat—alongside an Apple Pie Baking Contest and a Kids Wagon Parade.
Throughout the day, the celebration will feature a wide variety of live performances. Kicking off with DJ Boris, slated performances include Selestial Alcoser, Mustache the Band, and chart-topping, Texas-founded country outfit, Eli Young Band. Following the headlining performance, the celebration will be capped off with an epic fireworks finale.
Over the festival grounds, visitors can also enjoy food and retail vendors, kids activations, and free swag giveaways. Coolers are allowed, though alcohol, glass containers, and pets are not.
The Baytown Fourth of July event takes place all day at Bicentennial Park at 1001 Market St., Baytown, TX 77520. Live music will run from 4 pm –10 pm. Visitors can enjoy free parking at Lee College near the park.
