There’s a new date spot in town, Houston. Emilia’s Havana is an intimate new lounge made in the image of ’50s-era Cuba. Complete with Cuban-inspired cocktails, luxe Latin vibes, and music performances to boot, the new lounge offers a setting worth spending an evening with your significant other.
Emilia’s Havana is the latest project by Berg Hospitality Group. The group, as you may know, is responsible for some of the city’s premier culinary destinations, including: B.B. Lemon, B&B Butchers & Restaurant, The Annie, Trattoria Sofia, and Nopo Café.
The lounge offers small plates courtesy of Chef Brian Sutton. Menu features include Emilia’s Havana Caviar Reserve ($155), Duck Cubano ($36), Truffle Tartar ($115), Lobster Corn Empanadas ($62), and more.
In addition to an elevated wine list, Emilia’s Havanas features a tasteful selection of cocktails curated by James Beard-award winning mixologist, Alba Huerta.
Featured cocktails (all priced at $30) include: Hemingway, made with Facundo Neo White Rum, lime blend, grapefruit, Maraschino, and sugar; Cuba Libra made with Bacardi 10-year rum, Mexican Coca-Cola, and lime; Mojito with Flor de Caña Reserva 7-Year Blanco Rum, Blanc Vermouth, Curacao, and Grenadine.
“When presented with this small space by my landlord, which was formerly a storage closet, my immediate thought was to create an intimate, speakeasy style lounge with live music every night. This is something I feel Houston is still really lacking,” says Benjamin Berg, Berg Hospitality CEO & Founder.
“You are going to pay a premium for your seat, but I am positive that this is a space where everyone will be able to really let loose and enjoy that nostalgic Havana vibe and unique bossa nova style of music that most people have only seen in the movies.”
Emilia’s Havana is now open next door to The Annie Café & Bar at 1800 Post Oak Blvd. The lounge hosts two seatings Wednesdays through Saturdays between 8 pm – 10 pm, 10:30 pm – 12:30 am. During which, the house band performs live; from 12:30 – 2 am on Friday and Saturdays, the house DJ performs.
