Now with the holiday season on the near horizon, it’s time to put together a list. Not a Naughty or Nice List, leave that to the big guy, but a list of Christmas experiences in Houston to enjoy during the most wonderful time of the year. Though we’re sure you already have your own holiday traditions, be sure to leave space for new holiday experiences debuting in Houston this year, including Blitzen’s at OMNI Hotel in Houston.
In the same way of Miracle, Sippin’ Santa, or more localized pop-ups like Holiday Hideaway at Chicken N Pickle, Blitzen’s is an over-the-top Christmas pop-up bar. Housed inside La Reserve at OMNI Hotel, the pop-up transforms the space into a winter wonderland, with immersive Yuletide decor, twinkling lights, and terrific amounts of tinsel.
Blitzen’s at OMNI made its official debut in select markets this past year. After a successful season, OMNI Hotels & Resorts have expanded the experience nationwide, including a pop-up in Houston at its hotel located at La Reserve 4 Riverway.
In addition to its immersive decor and all-around festivity, Blitzen’s will also feature a curated list of themed cocktails. To this aim, organizers tapped renowned mixologist and Netflix cocktail judge, Julie Reiner, to create a menu of whimsical cocktails solely for this event.
Reiner, an author and co-founder of some of NYC’s most iconic bars like Milady’s, Clover Club, and Leyenda, focused her mixology magic on traditional methods with a dash of creativity to bring her exclusive cocktail recipes. Featured cocktails at last year’s Blitzen experience includes the likes of the Sleigh Ride, The Blitzen, and Espress Ho-Ho Martini.
Non-alcoholic cocktails have also featured at past Blitzen’s events.
Blitzen’s makes it debut at OMNI Hotel in Houston, located at La Reserve 4 Riverway, on November 14. Once in operation, Blitzen’s will be open Tuesdays through Sundays from 5 pm to midnight. Patrons of Blitzen’s do not have to be guests at the hotel.
