Get off to a good start this November in Houston the fantastic Asian Night Market! One of Houston’s most fantastic culinary traditions, the Asian Night Market is a beloved annual event that emulates the bustling street markets across East and Southeast Asia.
While the event has seen a number of different iterations over the years, taking place at different venues in different forms, this year’s is going to be better than ever!
Presented by Asia Society, the outdoor Night Market takes place on November 1st with dozens of food vendors as well as gifts, art, and apparel vendors. The free event will feature games, cultural activities, live music, dance performances, screenings, and an all-access beer garden.
Slated vendors include Chung Wang Cantonese BBQ, Dumpling Haus, Lao Sze Chuan, Caobao Buns, Traveler’s Cart, and more.
In addition, the Houston Night Market will also feature a variety of fun ticketed indoor activities for just $5. Slated events include an after-hours exhibition, Mahjong and games zone, carnival activities, K-pop, Bollywood, and hip-hop dance concert, and Otaku Alley for cosplay, anime, and manga festivities.
Other attractions on the grounds include installations from the Houston Botanic Garden’s Radiant Nature Display, NASA/Johnson Space Center activities, the Space City: Art in the Age of Artemis exhibition, and a Manga Cafe hosted by Houston Public Library.
“Drawing inspiration from street markets commonly found in East and Southeast Asia, Asia Society Texas’ annual Night Market festival celebrates Houston’s arts and food scenes while also engaging visitors through thought-provoking exhibitions and all-ages activities,” the website reads.
“Building upon this beloved tradition since 2013 and the launch of the website Spotlight Asiatown in 2021, we welcome you to enjoy all the tastes, sights, sounds, shopping, and fun that Asia Society visitors have come to anticipate and love.”
The Night Market takes place between from 6 pm to 10 pm on Friday, November 1 at Asia Society Texas located at 1370 Southmore Blvd Houston, TX 77004.
