Experience the best of Japanese pop culture and anime at the 20th annual Anime Matsuri in Houston. Taking place over four days this July, the convention will feature a diverse lineup of events, including special guest appearances, concerts, exhibitions, and sumo wrestling matches. When/where is the Anime Matsuri Convetion?
Anime Matsuri takes place at the George R. Brown Convention Center located at 1001 Avenida de las Americas from July 23 – July 26, 2026.
What to expect at Anime Matsuri in Houston?
Throughout the four-day event, the convention will feature a wide array of anime-focused activities, interactive activations, and attractions. Anchoring the festival is the massive Exhibit Hall. The sprawling marketplace will be packed with vendors and an artist alley.
Car enthusiasts will be able to find Import Reactor, Anime Matsuri’s Car Show and Exhibition that brings import vehicles and Itasha culture directly to the convention’s Red Carpet area in Exhibit Hall E.
This same Red Carpet zone will feature prominent local and professional cosplayers selling prints and hosting photo-ops, while a dedicated gaming section will run competitive tournaments and free-play sessions.
Other special events slated for Anime Matsuri include the Karaoke Battle (July 23), Princess Party (July 24), and Fashion Show (July 24). Other planned events include a LARP Arena, wrestling matches, Anime Bingo, cosplay contests, and more.

Ticketing information for Anime Matsuri
Attendees can select from a variety of badges. Day passes start at $32.40 (+ fees) for a Sunday Pass. 4-Day Passes start at $107.40 (+ fees). Kids Weekend Passes are priced at $37.40 (+ fees). Single Day Passes are not available for children.
